Each participant of a NSAS event acknowledges and agrees to the Terms and Conditions published in the present Section when registration is accepted and as a condition of being permitted to attend an Event.

Although we endeavour to ensure the content is accurate and up-to-date, the NSAS accepts no responsibility for loss arising from reliance on information contained in this site or other sites that may be linked to our site.

Faculty and Event Directors may be increased, reduced, or replaced without prior notice. The Registration Fees may be modified with prior notice published on the NSAS website. An Event may be held in a different location for reasons of force majeure. The maximum number of participants in a given Course, Workshop or any other Event may be increased without prior notice should demand be exceptionally high by qualified applicants. The Cancellation Policy, including the COVID-19 Cancellation Policy, is published below.

The NSAS does not assume responsibility for medical expenses of Instructors, Participants and their guests at the events. All Participants are urged to ensure that they and their guests are covered by their own travel and health insurance policies while travelling to and from and attending an Event.

The NSAS is not responsible for private possessions lost or stolen during an Event.

To encourage open communication, each participant of an Event agrees that any information presented at an Event, whether in a formal talk, poster session, or discussion, is a private communication from the individual making the contribution and is presented with the restriction that such information is not for public use. The recording of lectures by any means, the photography of slide or poster material, and printed references to NSAS papers and discussion are prohibited. Scientific publications are not to be prepared as emanating from the Events unless agreed in writing with the NSAS. Guests are not permitted to attend the Event lectures and discussion sessions.

Although the NSAS staff will take reasonable steps to enforce the restrictions against recording and photographing Event presentations, each participant at an Event assumes sole responsibility for the protection and preservation of any intellectual property rights in such participant’s contributions to an Event.

Selection of participants is based on merit: efforts will however be made to prevent that specific professional profiles (for example, senior or younger investigators) or demographics are over-represented in each individual Event, in order to reach, as much as possible, a balanced and participative audience.

Registration Categories at NSAS Advanced Neuroscience Courses:

For the purpose of Registration at a NSAS Advanced Course , the following are the categories (please note that individual cases may be considered differently at some academic, clinical or professional institutions):

Graduate Students are individuals who are enrolled in a Graduate Program (University-issued verification of status is required) and have not previously graduated from a Doctorate program;

Postdoctoral Fellows are individuals who have received a Doctorate Degree and are within six years of their Doctoral Degree.

For-Profit are individuals affiliated with a for-profit organization and professionals in private practice or consulting businesses.

 

Cancellation Policy at the Neuroscience School of Advanced Studies (NSAS)

Cancellation by You

Once you have completed your booking and received your emailed confirmation of enrolment you are deemed to have a contract with the NSAS. You have the right to cancel this contract with us. Please make sure to check out the details below.

Your Right to Cancel within 14 days of Registration and Payment

You have a right to cancel your contract with us within 14 days under The Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please read this information carefully. Once you have completed your booking and received your emailed confirmation of enrolment or room reservation or a dated payment receipt, you are deemed to have a contract with the NSAS.

You have the right to cancel this contract with us without giving us any reason. The cancellation period will expire at the end of 14 days after the NSAS confirms your enrolment or room reservation. If you wish to cancel in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act you must inform us of your decision in a clear statement in writing via registered mail to: Neuroscience School of Advanced Studies, 118 Pall Mall, London, SW1Y 5EA. UK.

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to advise us that you wish to cancel before the cancellation period has expired via email: registration@neurosas.org.

Please note that Registrations and Payments completed less than 30 days before the starting date of the event for which you register are final and non-refundable.

Your Right to Cancel after 14 days of Registration and Payment

If you exercise your right to cancel 14 days or more after Registration and Payment, we will reimburse you the Payments received from you according to the following Cancellation Policies:

Cancellation Policy for Advanced Courses, Challenge Workshops, and The Neuroscience Summit:

Cancellations 12 weeks or earlier before the beginning of an event will be refunded, less a 15% administrative fee. Cancellations 12 to 8 weeks before the beginning of an event will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 8 weeks prior to beginning of an event and no shows are ineligible for any refunds.

Registrations benefiting from reduced Registration Fees are non-refundable and may be transferred to another event organized by the NSAS.

If you wish to cancel, you must inform us of your decision in a clear statement in writing via registered mail to: Neuroscience School of Advanced Studies, 118 Pall Mall, London, SW1Y 5EA. UK.. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to advise us that you wish to cancel before the cancellation period has expired via email: registration@neurosas.org.

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay and not later than 30 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel. If we need to reimburse by international bank transfer, we will deduct bank charges.

All refunds will be charged a 15% administration fee (of the total fee at the time of booking), as indicated in the Cancellation Policy mentioned above.

Cancellation Policy for the Executive Neuroscience Programme:

Cancellations received 60 days or earlier before the beginning of a Programme will be refunded, less a 10% administrative fee. Cancellations received less than 60 days prior to the beginning of a Programme and no-shows are ineligible for any refunds.

Cancellation of Events and Changes to Events, by the NSAS

The NSAS reserves the right to cancel events due to low enrolment numbers: in the above cases, a full refund will be given to registered participants and guests and in such case the NSAS is responsible only for the monetary amount of the Registration Fees.

Publicized speakers (web and print form) may be subject to change due to speakers’ unavailability. Where there is a change in speakers or event director/chairperson, the NSAS will endeavour to give as much notice as possible in advance.

Cancellation of Events due to force majeure, independent of the NSAS

In the unlikely occurrence that an event is cancelled because of force majeure -including Covid-19 and other geopolitical events- registered participants are owed a refund according to the following Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations 12 weeks or earlier before the beginning of an event will be refunded, less a 15% administrative fee. Cancellations 12 to 8 weeks before the beginning of an event will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 8 weeks prior to the beginning of an event are ineligible for any refund.

COVID-19 Cancellation Policy

All participants and guests must consider the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and its associated government measures for bookings made after September 2020.

Participants who register with a refundable fee (a full, non-reduced fee) will be entitled to a refund, less a small administrative fee, according to the following policy if there is an objective cause that leads to the cancellation of an event due to coronavirus (COVID-19).

Cancellations 12 weeks or earlier before the beginning of an Event will be refunded, less a 15% administrative fee. Cancellations 12 to 8 weeks before the beginning of an Event will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 8 weeks prior to the beginning of an Event and no-shows are ineligible for any refunds.

Objective causes of cancellation are lockdown in the Country of the venue and global travel restrictions imposed by the venue Country’s government, causing an inability to reach the region of the venue, exclusively during the period of the reserved stay.

Objective causes of cancellation are not foreign governmental limitations, fear of travelling, personal prohibition of travelling, mandatory quarantine of the participant or of a guest, or any other event that is subjectively important.

Participants who register with a reduced, early bird, or otherwise non-refundable but transferable fee are entitled to transfer the funds paid to a different Event organized by the NSAS but not to a refund.

The NSAS is never responsible for any additional costs participants or guests may have incurred, including costs for travel or accommodation.
